Inspired by her ancestor Margaret Brant, Tawnya dives into the world of food production, testing sauces, spice rubs and ready-to-eat meals that reflect her culture and identity.
Episode 4 - Paw Paw Dreams
Tawnya meets food industry expert Janice Bartley, who believes her pawpaw vinaigrette could be a hit. But to move forward, Tawnya must decide how much she trusts others with her vision.
Episode 5 - Playing for Change
Tawnya connects with Indigenous women lacrosse players — including her sister, Jesse — to explore how athletes nourish their bodies and spirits while juggling sport, motherhood and community.
Episode 6 - The Cheese Test

Still grieving, Tawnya pushes through exhaustion to cater the Sapling & Flint Winter Market, feeding her community and remembering her mother’s impact.
Episode 9 - Sweet Traditions
As Six Nations celebrates the New Year, Tawnya and Dakota bake “Indian donuts” and share stories with young baker Dewadenyayaks Dale, honouring family and culture.
Episode 10 - The Role of Uncles
Tawnya visits Tyendinaga with her sons to reconnect with land and family. Cousin Eli teaches the boys to trap fishers, while Tawnya explores a bison farm and cooks a bush dinner of bison hand pies and maple-candied fruit.
Episode 11 - The Seedkeeper’s Path
Tawnya steps into her mother’s role, taking over the Mohawk Seedkeepers Garden and Earthship. She leads a gathering to plant the garden and then hosts the annual seed exchange. Although attendance is small, her mother’s teachings rekindle her confidence.
Episode 12 - The Feast
In a powerful finale, Tawnya hosts a six-course dinner that serves as both tribute and teaching. Each dish reflects a chapter of Indigenous history, from the hardships of the residential school era to the revival of near-lost foods.
